To impart through learning and instil through practice moral, ethical, political and spiritual values; to help, develop logical thinking and a spirit of enquiry among the students thereby contributing the formation of a progressive society.

Departmental Objectives:

1. To emphasize the learning by doing method, conduct of students “Seminar”, group discussion, survey etc.
2. To help the academically disadvantage students by the conduct of remedial classes on a regular basis.
3. To conduct seminar, visiting lectures and workshop to increase the competency of the faculties.
4. To upgrade the departmental libraries.
5. To help promote an ambience of creativity and innovativeness, the department will take educational tours, students exchange programme, co-curricular activities and other cultural activities towards personality development of the students.
6. To conduct social service programme.
7. To conduct awareness programme on environment.
8. To impart value education.
